KUALA LUMPUR: A maid, attempting to escape from her
employer used pieces of clothing to climb down through windows from
the 16th floor condominium unit at Sentul here but eventually she
panicked and had to be rescued four floors down.
The 33-year-old maid, who claimed that her lady employer abused
her, had used pieces of clothing items to make a rope to climb out
of the unit at 11am yesterday.

She was found clinging onto
the wall of the 12th floor unit by several passers-by who then
called the Fire and Rescue Department.
It is learnt the maid suddenly froze with fear when she reached
the 12th floor and decided to stay where she was.
She was found with bruises on her face and several parts of her
body.
She was later brought to the Sentul police station where she
lodged a report.
The woman, when met at the scene, claimed that her employer would
beat her up if she did anything wrong and refused to give her proper
food.
“She hits me and gives me only bread to eat,” she said.
Sentul OCPD Asst Comm K. Kumaran confirmed the incident, adding
that police would record a statement from the maid.
“We will send her to the hospital for a medical
examination,” he said.
