PROUD MALAYSIAN SERVE MALAYSIA Today being a volunteer fire fighter is a lot more than just running into burning buildings. There are many more aspects to it. We do fund raising work. We educate children on fire safety lessons. We are very much involved in many aspects of our community. So if you have some extra time on your hands and would like to become part of us, please give us a call.   MVFRA Volunteer Volunteers are the lifeblood of the MVFRA. They are trained to a wide range of skills. Rescue personnel are trained in first aid and general rescue techniques, and the other members in skills needed to deal with specific skills and planning. Headquarters personnel are trained to manage operations and logistics, as well as to work with the media and coordinate community education activities. MVFRA is always looking for volunteers to work in the field and to assist in managing operations, communications, media and community education. As a minimum, applicants must: Be a citizen of Malaysia with at least age 25 years old & above Have a valid driver license Own transport. Physically fit Is, and agrees to remain, a non-smoker Good lifestyle choices Understand and communicate in English Does not attached to any uniformed body / organizations. Not have been convicted of a crime punishment by imprisonment or of an offense involving dishonesty, unlawful sexual conduct, physical violence, or the unlawful use, sale of possession of a controlled substance.     Required application procedure: Download and complete the Membership Application Form. Attach the following:- Your relevant documents/certificates Application Fee - RM 150.00 Please do not mail cash. Issue cheque and made payable to :PERSATUAN BOMBA SUKARELA" Your I/C (Photostat Copy) - 1 pc Your Photo (I/C Size -color) - 2 pcs Return the completed Membership Application Form to :- The Membership Officer No 32, Jalan Wirawati 6, Taman Maluri, 55100 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. A letter is sent to each applicant to notify them if their application has been accepted or not accepted. If your application has been accepted, you will be invited to the second stage of the process - the oral interview. The oral interview takes place. Notification is sent to each applicant advising them of the oral interview results: either acceptance, non-acceptance, or placement on an eligibility list. If you are accepted as the member of MVFRA, you must attend weekly training on Sunday (8.30am - 12.00pm), standby/on-duty  once a week in the station, meetings and drills, and respond to calls.
