Mineral Bottles

In July 1999, MVFRA took up the challenge to build the largest Malaysian flag by using mineral water bottles. This gigantic symbol of national pride measures 29.3metre by 13.2metre, weighs 600 kg. and has thickness of nearly 9cm. It comprises of 11,620 1.5lt. and 1,246 1.0lt. mineral water bottles and took a total of 250 volunteers 45 days to complete.

This record- breaking feat was officiated by YB Datuk Megat Junid Bin Megat Ayob (former minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs) on 16th August 1999 and it was displayed at Dataran Merdeka during the 42nd National Day celebrations.

This feat was recognized by the Malaysian Book of Records and on 26th December 1999, a Certificate of Appreciation was awarded by the former Prime Minister, Tun. Dr. Mahathir Bin Mohamad.
