Disaster Response and Relief Unit (DRRU) En. Mior Roslan Bin Mior Jaafar, the Safety & Security Manager of  Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur received the Certificate of Appreciation from Capt. K. Balasupramaniam, the MVFRA Chairman during the Disaster Emergency Prepredeness Orientation organized on June 21, 200. DRRU was setup ini 2002 with the aim to provide humanitarian aid during disasters. The unit will be activated as soon as disasters took place and it would assist in disaster relief work both at national and international levels. In the initial stage, the Disaster Emergency Preparedness Orientation was organized for our members and the invited professional volunteers. The objective of this orientation is to gather maximum manpower (volunteers) to stand by and ready to provide assistance during emergencies. For those who are interested (age 25 & above) in contributing their voluntary services to help and assist in disaster relief work, please register with MVFRA via e-mail : mvfra_anita@hotmail.com Jungle Survival Training for DRRU On 28 July 2002, MVFRA organized the first session of training for the members of Disaster Response and Relief Unit (DRRU) at Sungai Pisang Waterfall. After the briefing session on planning and preparation on jungle survival equipment, the training started with learning the basic jungle survival skills, eg. start fire, delivering S.O.S signal and basic rope rappelling training.
