Fire Hydrant Adoption Programme 90 /92

One of the earliest community service project initiated by MVFRA, the Fire Hydrant Adoption Campaign was first launched in 1997.

Fire Hydrants are indispensable during a fire emergency. However the members of the public failed to realize the importance of keeping such fire-fighting equipment in good working condition.

During spot checks by our team of volunteers, a number of fire hydrants were found to be unserviceable; some could not be easily located as they were covered by mud or bushes. Most of the hydrants were found to be non-functioning and some with keys missing from the concrete boxes.

Members of the community are encouraged to do spot checks on the nearby fire hydrants and ensure all fire hydrants in their vicinity are in working condition in order to avoid breakdowns during fire emergencies.
