Tips on dealing with
road accidents
THE MALAY MAIL,
November 30, 1998
MIMS' 98 visitors not only
had a wonderful time enjoying the sights at the show yesterday but also
picked up some useful tips on how to deal with road accidents.
Thanks to the Federal
Territory Fire and Rescue Volunteer Society, many who were at the brief
talk yesterday left the show mentally-prepared on what to do if they are
involved in the road accident.
During the society's talk
yesterday, the last day of MIMS' 98, there was a first-aid crash course
and also a cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) demonstration.
Society chairman K. Bala
said besides the demos, the public was also briefed on how to take care of
accident victims, calm them down, administer first aid, deal with the
crowd and get immediate emergency assistance.
The society is also selling
road safety equipment and accessories at its booth during the show.
Bala said most of the
products on sale are targeted at motorcyclists.
"This is because they are
the most vulnerable road users," he said.
"it is also part of our
safety campaign for motorcyclists that was launched last year."
